Welcome to The Hire Syndicate’s (THS) inaugural blog! As we continue to develop THS, I have felt a growing need for a way to communicate and share our approach and philosophy with our members and friends as well as provide a forum for discussion on the challenges and solutions in the ever evolving recruiting landscape. This is the purpose for this blog so I invite you to share with our community. Let us know topics you’d like to see covered!

Starting with Why

I thought a perfect place to start an inaugural blog is sharing one of our core values and inspiration for launching The Hire Syndicate.

I recently read ‘Start with Why’, by Simon Sinek. I was lucky enough to see Simon speak at an event as well. In a nutshell, the gist is having your ‘why’ or your core value emanate throughout what your company does and how it’s done. Many start with how or what, however in starting with your why enables you to create a deeper connection with your community. A great example of this is Apple. Apple’s core value of ‘think different’ or ‘challenging the status quo’ emanates through how and what they do. How many companies do you know of that have more of a loyal following then Apple?

I have a passion for travel and music. I love to explore new lands and cultures and sometimes DJ while doing so. This is part of why I am an entrepreneur. To enable me to have the freedom to pursue these passions. This is also why I transitioned from running a fully staffed recruiting agency to being an independent recruiter, for Freedom.

I believe this is common value many recruiters share. Especially independents. You want to work when you want, from wherever you want and as efficiently as possible so you can spend less time working and more time pursuing your passions. Living the dream of the “4 hour work week”.

I’ve always been inspired to optimize the amount of placements I could make while minimizing the amount of time spent making them. This way I would have more time to pursue my passions.

Over the past dozen or so of years I’ve been recruiting, I’ve developed and refined processes to do just this. These innovations are built into THS. It is our goal to empower recruiters all over the world with the tools to optimize their freedom. Whether that means more free time to spend with the family, start a new business, or climb glaciers in Patagonia.

Like life, we see The Hire Syndicate as a journey. One that we are taking together as a community. Therefore we will continue to listen to our members, innovate and iterate our platform to keep with our core value – Freedom!
